Is Pueraria Mirifica useful to treat androgenic alopecia? - JosItaly - 06-10-2017 12:11 PM

Hi everyone.
Since Pueraria Mirifica contains phytoestrogens, I was wondering if men could treat androgenic alopecia combining it with saw palmetto.
Saw palmetto is a DHT blocker (DHT causes male pattern baldness) and pueraria mirifica could help to stimulate hair regrow.
Is that right? I read some people had hair regrow with the only pueraria. Which is your experience?
And how much mg do you recommend a day to treat alopecia and not stimulate breast growth?

Thanks.
Best regards.

If you want to stop DHT try reishi mushroom combined with chaste berry extract. It works period.

I don't think you understood the subject of the topic.
For treating androgenic alopecia, you don't have only to block DHT (which blocks the miniaturization of hair follicles), but also stimulate hair regrow (maybe with estrogens).

THANKS MR KNOW IT ALL! Sorry was only trying to throw out a bit of advice. I've been using PM combined with the other two herbs since last November and I've actually have experienced full regrowth on my forehead which was starting to recede. I had assumed that you were already using pm. Using chaste berry combined with reishi pretty much equals what you get with a finestride prescription. Adding pm kick starts hair growth. Sorry to offend your sensibilities. I will keep my comments to myself from now on.

Sorry, I didn't want to offend you. You assumed it right, I'm taking PM. And I'm combining it with saw palmetto.
I'm glad that PM helped you to regrow your hair and I hope it will be the same to me.
Anyway, why did you take chasteberry with reishi and not saw palmetto?
I know saw palmetto is the best natural DHT blocker. Do you have evidence that chasteberry combined with reishi is better than saw palmetto?

I'm sorry as well I was being catty. Messing around with hormones has some negative effects as well. Most of the studies I've read state that sw has antiandrogenic properties but in most groups was just as effective as the placebo group. Chaste berry or vitex has been used for centuries to "curb libido" and is as I can testify very effective at dropping t counts. Reishi however is alot more potent. There are studies that back up its effectiveness. Just be careful with it. It's also an anticoagulant as well. It does have medical reports to back it up. Just don't take them at the levels I'm going with. I'm going for feminization the hair regrowth was a surprise side effects. For what you're going for I'd suggest alternate chaste 400mg and reishi 500mg every other day with 500mg pm in the morning. Check the Web & read as much as you can. The people on this site can provide you with a ton of personal experience. Insofar as good quality herbals barlows has sterate free products. White peony is also a good AA but it did make me gassy and a bit bloated. My regimen is 800mg chaste berry/ 500mg reishi first thing in the morning followed with 1500mg pm & 1000mg red clover two hours later. Although I've added African mango extract lately for it's refuted fat burning properties. I'll let ya know if it helps. If you don't want higher estrogen levels avoid grapefruit.

Thank you. I'm on 500 mg/day PM with a glass of milk.
Have your beasts grown with your regimen?
I'm good for a little of feminization (reduced body hair, bigger hips), but I don't want breasts and I want hair regrow.
If chasteberry decreases testosterone, then I think saw palmetto is more safe to me since in theory it should decrease only DHT (that's what I need to stop follicles miniaturization).

I started around late November and yes I started budding around the second month. I'm now at a solid A cup and still growing. Chaste is a good DHT blocker with few side effects. I've tried saw palmetto but had better results with chaste and reishi. As I said I'm going for full feminization. So far my hips are filling in and I have to wear a binder to keep my nips from showing during work. I'd say I'm about a quarter inch away from actual cleavage without a push up bra. I will say the hair growth was a nice surprise. It started with a light fuzz growing in the temples to actual hairs within 3 months. Although I do have fuzz growth on my ears which is kinda weird. My facial hair has really slowed down in growth as of late it takes about twice the time to grow a mustache. Eyebrow growth has been pretty thick but that's not really testosterone driven. PM has some potent ability to effectively help hair and nail growth but the phytoestrogens will focus on developing secondary characteristics. If your nipples start to hurt or you feel lumps about the size of a marble under your nips you're budding and starting to develop breast tissue.

That's alot of extra ingredients. Try to keep it simple. From what I've seen from some of the success stories on this forum. Most just found the combo that works for them.
